Golden Earrings - Just Ear-Rings After five years performing in and around The Hague The Golden Ear-rings finally released their debut album Just Ear-Rings in 1965, being the start of an impressive career. The album features the song "Please Go", the first single of the band.

Golden Earrings - Miracle Mirror Miracle Mirror is Golden Earring's third album and is recorded after the band made a few changes in their lineup. This meant that Miracle Mirror is a very different album than its two predecessors. One thing that the three albums do have in common is that they are all very much reflecting what's going on in the British music scene at that moment. In case of Miracle Mirror this means that psychedelia dominates, like the folkie "Gipsy Rhapsody", the blues-influenced "Must I Cry?" or the grand scale pop number "Crystal Heaven". After 45 years this album still sounds spot-on and has gracefully worn the test of time!

Earth And Fire - Earth And Fire Hailing from The Hague's blossoming '60s rock scene, Earth & Fire were already a well-known Prog group in The Netherlands before they broke through internationally. Their early psychedelic influences range from Led Zeppelin to Jefferson Airplane, with some touches of Focus's Prog prowess and Shocking Blue's sound, show on their debut album Earth & Fire (1970). The Music On Vinyl issue comes in a matchbook style.

Cuby + Blizzards - Live First live album from the Kings of the Dutch Blues scene (who also purportedly played a stint as Van Morrison's backing band) that hasn't seen a vinyl re-issue since 1973. With special guest Alexis Korner.

Alquin - Marks Dutch Prog Rockers Alquin delivered their first album Marks in 1972. Marks contains eight songs that prove the musical force of this young group who at the time were still in their University attending days. However influences of Pink Floyd and Roxy Music are apparent, Alquin succeeded in shaping their own style. Sometimes Jazzy, there are even Folk influences on this varied album. Highly recommended record.

Boudewijn De Groot - Picknick Influenced by The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Boudewijn De Groot and his lyricist Lennaert Nijgh wanted to create the ultimate hippie album. This resulted in Picknick (1967) on which they heavily experimented with psychedelic lyrics and music. The album cover is designed by the Dutch artist Marijke Koger who was the ultimate visionary of hippie aesthetics. Amongst others she created album art and costumes for The Beatles and painted Eric Clapton's and George Harrison's guitars. She also painted the mural on the theater that debuted the musical ´Hair´ and the murals for The Beatles´ Apple Boutique.

Kayak - Phantom Of The Night Kayak is a well known Prog group from the Netherlands that released multiple albums during the '70s. The band is influenced by bands like Yes, Genesis and Queen, the latter for which Kayak opened a tour in 1974. The band recorded Phantom Of The Night in 1978, introducing a new singer. Their move toward a more Poppy sound is apparent on this album, featuring simpler time signatures, synthesized sounds and clean vocals. Biggest hit proved "Ruthless Queen", a slow paced staple on Dutch radio.

Mais novidades.
Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine November 3, 2012 marked the 20th anniversary of one of the most explosive debut albums ever. Formed in 1991, Rage Against The Machine laid the groundwork for an aggressive new rock-rap genre with their politically-charged first album. To this day the album, and the band, remains the standard-bearer for uncompromising, incendiary rock. Music On Vinyl got hold of brand new remastered audio for this legendary release, and we've thrown in a printed innersleeve for good measure.
Donny Hathaway - Live Live from 1972 cemented Hathaway's reputation as one of the forerunners of Soul, giving wonderful Jazzed-up interpretations (two of them running over the 10-minute mark) of classics. Hathaway plays with the audiences of the Troubadour in Hollywood and the Bitter End in New York like a preacher from the pulpit; their call-and-response is one of the elements that makes this album a classic of epic proportions.

Original Soundtrack - RZA: The Man With The Iron Fists A movie inspired by '70s Kung Fu movies and godfathered by Quentin Tarantino, The Man With The Iron Fists is RZA's first step into directing as one of his many contributions to this film: the fabled producer of the Wu-Tang Clan is credited as writer, director, main actor AND score producer of this violent outburst of humor and action. For the soundtrack RZA worked together with genre defining artists like Black Keys, Wu-Tang Clan and Kanye West. The Man With The Iron Fists OST will have a limited first run on pink vinyl; definitely something to look out for!
Gene Clark - No Other Gene Clark was one of the founding members, singers and principal songwriters of The Byrds. His body of work stands out as a beacon in the Country Rock genre. No Other from 1972 was a visionary recording. According to Allmusic: "What it adds up to is a sprawling, ambitious work that brought elements of country, folk, jazzed-out gospel, blues, and trippy rock to bear on a song cycle that reflects the mid-'70s better than anything from that time, yet sounds hauntingly timely even now."

Iron Butterfly - Heavy Debut album Heavy (1968) contains raw songs with the psychedelic rock sound that Iron Butterfly would become famous for: a loose vibe, heavy riffs, pulsating organs, thunderous drums and bluesy soloing. Highlights include the groovy "Fields Of Sun", the reverb-laden "Iron Butterfly Theme" and an infectious cover of "Get Out Of My Life, Woman" by Allen Toussaint. Heavy is the only Iron Butterfly album that features the all-original line-up.

Ministry - Land Of Rape And Honey The Land Of Rape And Honey was Ministry's breakthrough album released in 1988, which laid the foundation for a series of successful 'Tech Metal' albums that appealed to alternative audiences all over the globe. Drawing heavy on the sampler, synthesized sounds and thick layers of distorted guitars, this group preceded highly successful acts such as Fear Factory and Nine Inch Nails.

Lovin Spoonful - Best Of As the title suggests this is a real Best Of and not a Greatest Hits album. Although there are five successful singles on the album ("Do You Believe in Magic", "You Didn't Have To Be So Nice", "Daydream", "Did You Ever Have To Make Up Your Mind?" and "Summer In The City"), the seven other tracks emphasize the band's assets as a whole and not only John Sebastian's song writing and singing abilities.

Sly and the Family Stone - Fresh
With classics such as "If You Want Me To Stay" and "Que Sera Sera", Fresh is one of Sly & The Family Stone's masterpieces. Recorded in 1973 it's steeped in the narcotic haze of political and social protest, but it is also an undeniably funky album. Elastic basslines, foot-stomping beats, eccentricity lurking around every note; Fresh is cool demonstration of why Sly &The Family Stone were one of the most influential bands in 'black' music, and Fresh is one of the best Funk albums of its era.

Billy Joel - Streetlife Serenade
Billy Joel proved with his previous album Piano Man [MOVLP521] that he could be a lyrical bard and a commercial hit. He didn't want to compromise or sell out, something he made absolutely clear on the follow up Streetlife Serenade, where in "The Entertainer" he sang 'It was a beautiful song but it ran too long./If you're gonna have a hit, you gotta make it fit./So they cut it down to 3:05.' (His label had cut the running time of "Piano Man" for the single version). And thus started his beef with the entertainment industry. This is the first vinyl re-issue since 1975!

Original Soundtrack - Taxi Driver
Robert De Niro's legendary performance in Taxi Driver ensured that this Scorcese classic ended up on many a 'best movie of all time' lists. It was also Bernard Hermann's last ever soundtrack. Like no other he composed a dark and threatening atmosphere that drags you into Bickle's twisted mind. There are only a handful of soundtracks that work on vinyl. Music On Vinyl is extremely proud to finally have this gem in its catalogue!

Gun Club - Miami
The Gun Club was formed by Jeffrey Lee Pierce, former head of the Blondie fan club in Los Angeles. Joining him was Brian Tristan, who was later renamed Kid Congo Powers during his stint with The Cramps. By 1982, the band had signed to Blondie guitarist Chris Stein's Animal Records and temporarily relocated to New York to record 1982's Miami. This album features Stein as producer, and you can hear Debbie Harry on backup vocals on select tracks. This is hardcore snake-charming music, evil, smoky, and brash. In the bird's-eye view of history its songs are all classics.

Slowdive - Pygmalion
When Slowdive disbanded in 1995 music fans widely associated it with the demise of the shoegaze genre. Their last sign of life was Pygmalion and it was, after Just For A Day [MOVLP354] and Souvlaki [MOVLP202] a totally different and more abstract album. They began to incorporate more elements of ambient electronica on Pygmalion. Tracks like "Blue Skied An' Clear" and "Crazy For You" demonstrate that the songs are still there, somewhere -- they're just buried under more abstract sounds than before. Music On Vinyl is very proud to complete the Slowdive catalogue with this stylistic masterpiece!

Only by the Night is the fourth album by Kings of Leon, released worldwide in September 2008. The commercial success this album experienced was enormous, peaking in the charts in more than ten different countries. Two of the singles from the album smashed the charts: "Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody". Worldwide it sold more than 6 million copies! Need we say more? Music On Vinyl is proud to make this album available again on vinyl in a beautiful package with a vinyl only bonus track!

Santana - Abraxas
After the release of Abraxas in September 1970 Santana made clear that there was no such thing in his music as 'mindless conformity' and this unorthodox mix of Salsa, Rock, Jazz and Blues proved to be quite successful. This album, that due to its variety would be a nightmare to marketeers in the '90s, peaked at #1 in the Billboard Top 200 in the '70s. A classic!
Upon departure of Deep Purple, Ian Gillan wrote a string of excellent solo albums. Glory Road came out in 1980, a high-octane Hard Rock album that leaves many to wonder why Deep Purple albums just weren't the same anymore after Gillan's departure in 1973. Surrounded by top musicians, Gillan knows how to make a cohesive and powerful album. Hard riffs, phat drumfills and vocal gymnastics are the recipe for an album that made it to #3 in the British album charts.

Bob Dylan - Oh Mercy Released in 1989, Oh Mercy found Bob Dylan at the top of his game. Widely regarded as his best album in over a decade, Oh Mercy reaches back to Dylan's artfulness from his early years. Lyrically, the album boasts a healthy mix of social works, love songs and poetical subject matter. Especially the laidback and airy production by Daniel Lanois (whose CV mentions U2's Joshua Tree, Album Of The Year in 1988) makes Oh Mercy undoubtedly the pinnacle of Bob Dylan's eighties output!

Bob Dylan - Nashville Skyline Nashville Skyline is Bob Dylan's first fully-fledged country rock record, originally released in 1969. Its slide guitars, short songs and a warm croon make this album a true Dylan classic. The album kicks off with the Johnny Cash & Dylan duet "Girl From The North Country", setting the tone from the beginning. Other noteworthy highlights include "Lay Lady Lay", "To Be Alone With You", "I Threw It All Away" and "Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You". Nashville Skyline's global sales history set the bar for the commercially-successful Country Rock genre.

Passenger - All The Little Lights
It's been a remarkable journey for Mike Rosenberg, the singer songwriter behind Passenger. A journey that has inspired some of the finest songwriting you'll hear anywhere, whether on a street corner, a sweaty rock'n'roll room or a concert stage. Indeed, Mike honed his craft on the street busking, singing songs for spare change, all the while travelling and impressing crowds from the UK (where he played with the likes of Jools Holland and Ed Sheeran) to Australia, where he recorded All The Little Lights. All The Little Lights shows this amazing singer loving life to the fullest. The second record in this double LP is an acoustic performance.

Janne Schra - Janne Schra
Janne Schra used to be lead singer in the band Room Eleven, a big name in the Dutch music scene. The albums Six White Russians and Mmm Gumbo sold over 100.000 copies combined. The singles "Hey Hey Hey", "Bitch" and "Lovely Morning" were picked up by various radio stations. As from 2012, Janne started performing under her own name and now finally releases her debut solo album. On Janne Schra, she works with a variety of skilled musicians, producers and writers. For example M. Ward, Torre Florim of Dutch band De Staat, Tobias Fröberg who has previously worked for Ane Brun and Martijn Groeneveld who works with Blaudzun. Most songs on the album are sensitive and Janne's voice perfectly fits this ambiance. She is a regular guest on national Dutch radio station 3FM. Ever since she performed her version of "One Day (Reckoning Song)" she immediately connected with a bigger audience. Therefore, this song is included as a bonus track on this album. The album Janne Schra is a an absolute must for fans of Beth Gibbons (Portishead), Aimee Mann and Suzanne Vega.

Jeff Beck - There And Back
Multi-tentacled guitar hero Jeff Beck released There And Back in 1980 after a four-year absence from the limelight. There And Back connects Rock and Jazz in one smooth fusion of moods. Steadily-paced songs interact with high-energy compositions, all the time showcasing Beck's prowess on the six strings. As a finishing touch, the sleeve features beautiful snakeskin texture!
Hocus Pocus (Best Of Focus) manages to compile two records filled to the brim with the best that Focus has to offer. The more obvious inclusions such as "Sylvia" and "Hocus Pocus" are included in the track list alongside "House Of The King", "Harem Scarem" and "Anonymus". This is a truly essential compilation for all Prog lovers.

Chet Baker was one of the most important representatives of the West Coast Cool Jazz movement. Pere Ubu - Modern Dance
Weird sounds, frantic Rock 'n Roll riffs, cartoony vocals and a typical garage sound contribute to a landmark album in experimental Rock music. With a sound placed somewhere between Velvet Underground, Sex Pistols and The Residents, this crazy band from Cleveland delivers an extraterrestrial experience. We are inclined to agree with Allmusic's opinion that: "...you soon realize that this is punk rock unlike any you've ever heard."

In Concert With The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra is an extraordinary Procol Harum record. Being one of the very few times the band ever played with a choir and orchestra, the 3000-strong audience were witness to a unique spectacle which thankfully is preserved by this high quality recording. 52 musicians, 24 singers and a regiment of sound, lightning, stage and special effects specialists ensured the impact of the show was felt both in and outside the concert building of Edmonton, Canada; with the album reaching the top 5 in the US album charts.

Steppenwolf - Steppenwolf
The eponymous debut album of Steppenwolf cemented a fine foundation for their careers as the song "Born To Be Wild" launched the popularity of the band into the stratosphere virtually overnight. The biker anthem coined the term 'Heavy Metal' and coloured the airwaves in that hot summer of 1968. It was rightfully featured in the ultimate road movie Easy Rider, emitting perfectly the atmosphere of the story. Other highlights on the album include "A Girl I Knew" and "Ostrich" alongside cover versions of Don Covay's "Sookie Sookie" and Willie Dixon's "Hoochie Coochie Man".

E a Prestige? E a Blue Note? E a JPC? E a Deutsche Gramophone? E a ... e a ...

Bloodhound Gang - One Fierce Beer Coaster
The monster hit "Fire Water Burn" propelled the second album of Punk-Pop pranksters Bloodhound Gang from frat-house obscurity into the Pop mainstream. A downright party record, the genre-bending band fronted by Jimmy Pop defied all critics by refusing to compromise their sound. With lyrics full of perverted innuendo and toilet-humour served on a bedding of simple punky chords, One Fierce Beer Coaster was just what the kids in 1996 needed. The album even sports a sublime cover version of RUN-DMC's "Tricky". In keeping with a band that doesn't give a s**t, the first 1.000 copies are lovingly churned out onto brown vinyl!

Often referred to as Earle's first Rock record, Earle himself calls Copperhead Road (1988) the world's first blend of Heavy Metal and Bluegrass. Released in 1974, Changes One is the first part of two Changes albums originally released on Atlantic Records. Changes One contains four Mingus classics ("Remember Rockefeller at Attica", "Sue's Changes", "Devil Blues" and "Duke Ellington's Sound of Love") recorded by a band that's feeling adventurous and positively unpredictable. Music On Vinyl's release is the first reissue since 1975!

A big Incubus batch! Music On Vinyl proudly presents no less than FIVE Incubus albums on 180 gram vinyl! Starting off with their second full length S.C.I.E.N.C.E. (1997) all the way to their 2006 offering Light Grenades, this batch spans the heyday of this seminal Alt-Rock band: including Make Yourself (with the radio hit "Drive"), the Incubus essential Morning View ("Wish You Were Here", "Nice To Know You") and its follow-up A Crow Left Of The Murder ("Megalomaniac").
All these Incubus releases come in double LP gatefolds.
Incubus - S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
Technically their second full-length album, S.C.I.E.N.C.E. put Incubus on the radar of American nu-metal fans, offering a clean-cut form of alternative heavy Funk Rock. It allowed them to tour the States in support of Korn [Life Is Peachy: MOVLP066, Issues: MOVLP109], Primus [Brown Album: MOVLP546] and Sublime.

Incubus - Make Yourself
Incubus returned to the studio shortly after touring in support of S.C.I.E.N.C.E. [MOVLP694]and released Make Yourself in 1999. It further expanded their fan base by entering the album charts and selling over two million copies. The hit "Drive" indeed drove the popularity of this five piece from California leaps forward.
180 gram audiophile vinyl Gatefold sleeve
Incubus - Morning View
Following the success of Make Yourself [MOVLP695] and their hit "Drive", their biggest smash album to date became Morning View from 2001. It entered the album charts at number two, which resulted in headlining tours all over the world. The hits "Wish You Were Here", "Nice To Know You" and "Warning" further popularized their unique blend of melodic Funk, Rock and Nu-Metal grooves.
180 gram audiophile vinyl Gatefold sleeve
Incubus - A Crow Left Of The Murder
Delivering an equally strong album after the wildly popular Morning View [MOVLP696] may have sounded like a hard task, but the band from California succeeded in just that. A Crow Left Of The Murder came out in 2004 and hit the album charts at number two as well – what are the odds? The album was produced by Brendan O'Brien, who's known for his Pearl Jam production work. O'Brien shaped a sound that Incubus needed in this stage of their development: crisp and clean, but still heavy enough to allow for an effective variation between heavy riffing and fine acoustics.
180 gram audiophile vinyl Gatefold sleeve
Incubus - Light Grenades
Light Grenades [2006] shows the growth of a band that has stayed true to their musical roots but at the same time added incredible musical prowess and variation in their songs, as well as increasingly serious lyrical content. A bit more upbeat than their previous album A Crow Left Of The Murder [MOVLP697], Light Grenades has it all: varying from catchy hooks in "Diamonds And Coal" to acoustic ballads like "Paper Shoes" and everything in between. Diversity still is the band's middle name and that's not a small feat in a cookie cutter Pop world.

Thelonious Monk - Straight No Chaser Produced by Teo Macero, who was also responsible for legendary albums such as Miles Davis' Kind Of Blue and Dave Brubeck's Time Out!, Monk's Straight, No Chaser is a classic in its own right. Years after the release of Straight, No Chaser, more and more people became aware of the seminal role Monk played in the development in jazz as both pianist and composer, creating a standard of excellence that many musicians after him aspire to.

Nem sempre as reedições da Nina Simone que andam por aí, fazem jus à grande cantora. Pode ser que estas mudem isso. Nina Simone - Pastel Blues Only someone the likes of Billie Holiday and Bessie Smith had the power to lay a soul bare like Nina Simone could, as her stripped-down "Be My Husband" on Pastel Blues shows. Naked like a field holler, this song would later capture the imagination of Jeff Buckley and Antony Hegarty.
Also on this record are classics such as "Nobody Knows When You're Down And Out", originally sung by Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday's signature song "Strange Fruit", as well as a Nina Simone favorite: "Sinnerman". Re-released on vinyl for the first time since 1965!

Nina Simone - Silk & Soul Recorded in New York in 1967, Silk & Soul is Nina Simone's second album for RCA. This album does contain classics "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free", which would become a Civil Rights anthem and "It Be's That Way Sometimes", written by her brother Sam Waymon.
"The Turning Point"' is a song that seems to be about a child making a new friend, but turns out to question the origins of racism.
180 gram audiophile vinyl
Nina Simone - Black gold In 1969, the High Priestess Of Soul, Nina Simone, descended onto the stage of the Philharmonic Hall in New York to record her new live album, Black Gold. It became a legendary performance with the first recording of the Civil Rights song "To Be Young, Gifted And Black", a song which 'is not addressed to white people primarily. Though it doesn't put you down in any way...it simply ignores you. For my people need all the inspiration and love that they can get.'
Her eclectic style takes us past a number of different music forms; past Soul and Gospel and Folk, Jazz and Broadway; her androgynous and distinctive timbre floats somewhere between melancholy and bliss, and yet we always feel that Ms Simone is taking us exactly where she wants us to go.
180 gram audiophile vinyl
Nina Simone - And Piano! Nina Simone said that she'd rather have people remember her for her album Nina Simone And Piano! than for her surprise hit "My Baby Just Cares For Me".
And when you listen to the album, you fully understand why. This is Nina Simone stripped bare; an introspective, intimate album about death, reincarnation, loneliness and love. The simple piano arrangements and poignant vocals make you creep closer to the music - and the artist - with every listen.

In 2011, famed movie director Peter Jackson shot a documentary on the framing of three innocent teenagers in a gruesome murder case, called West Of Memphis: Voices For Justice. The Gun Club - The Las Vegas Story + Live LP
The Gun Club recorded The Las Vegas Story in 1984, which proved to be their most visionary and coherent record to date. Sonically, the band delivers heavy desert Rock, coloured by earthy slide guitars and primal rhythms – a unique blend of New Wave, Garage and Mod with a post-punk attitude.

Godflesh - Hymns
On their seventh and final studio album Hymns (2001), the undisputed leaders of British industrial metal return to a lean line up of guitar, bass and a human drummer. RUN-DMC - King Of Rock
This groundbreaking record was the first Hip Hop album to go platinum. As its title implies, the dynamic trio claim their supremacy by combining heavy 808 beats and massive guitar riff samples, proving they were the baddest group on the block, period. King Of Rock's influence has proven to be phenomenal. Not only did it introduce Rock fans to a new music, its fresh sounds also made all Hip Hop that came before it sound dated.

Al DiMeola's second album Elegant Gypsy (1977) proved to become one of the defining albums in Fusion. While being still a member of Return To Forever, DiMeola delivered his sophomore solo record after Land Of The Midnight Sun [MOVLP586] by collaborating with Jazz Rock giants Steve Gadd, Jan Hammer and Anthony Jackson. He even enlists Flamenco superstar Paco De Lucia on "Mediterranean Sundance", a song which predicts the style DiMeola would eventually evolve into: Latin tinged acoustic wizardry. Run-DMC - Raising Hell
Following the success of King Of Rock [MOVLP675], Raising Hell (1986) raised more than just a massive revenue stream by selling over three million albums worldwide. Too many classics on this one: "Peter Piper", "It's Tricky" and the song that popularized a certain brand of shoes in the Hip Hop community, "My Adidas". However the album's flag bearer is undoubtedly "Walk This Way" which literally rendered Aerosmith's original version obsolete. The album's timeless quality surfaces in its ability to bring together masses of fans of both genres.

Essential material for fans of Tim Buckley and Leonard Cohen.

Gaudi was the tenth and final Alan Parsons Project studio album released in 1987. Inspired as he was by the Catalan architect Antonio Gaudi, Alan Parsons built a truly passionate concept album. The masterfully cut Gaudi album simply is yummy for the ears.

Chris Whitley - Living With The Law
The beautiful breakthrough album of Chris Whitley was released in 1991 and was immediate proof of his brilliant songwriting. Its musical richness surfaces in the use of old-fashioned sounds such as slide guitars and banjos against a backdrop of subtly arranged rhythm tracks, whilst all the time carrying the splendid timbre of his voice. This is your chance to let Whitley in your life on heavy 180 gram vinyl!

Little Village - Little Village
Little Village is the all-star lineup consisting of singer John Hiatt, guitarist Ry Cooder, bassist Nick Lowe and drummer Jim Keltner, the very same musicians that were responsible for recording John Hiatt's breakthrough album Bring The Family (1987). When they decided to reconvene a few years later, the result was Little Village. Unfortunately, there are no subsequent albums of this super-group, but that makes the album Little Village even more unique.

Allman Brothers Band - Reach For The Sky
The band that has been through so much and then some released Reach For The Sky in 1980. Under the leadership of guitarist and original member Dickey Betts and founding member/organ player Gregg Allman the band churned out eight songs for this gospel-infused album. Reach For The Sky even attained a minor hit with the song "Angeline".

RELEASES
Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced =MONO= UK Version Recordings for Are You Experienced had begun in late October 1966, producing a string of singles preceding the illustrious first album by the world's most famous guitarist. The debut album by The Jimi Hendrix Experience was initially issued in mono and then 'enhanced stereo' on later issues.

Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced =MONO= US Version
The USA & Canadian issues of Are You Experienced were released after the band appeared at the Monterey Pop Festival in June 1967, along with The Who. Its art was directed by Ed Thrasher, using a Karl Ferris infra-red fish-eye photo. There is a key difference to the tracks on this album, with some removed and replaced by the earlier singles, plus a change to the running order. The spelling "Foxey Lady" appears in some of these issues, and has been adopted for the Music On Vinyl mono reissue.

Jimi Hendrix - Axis: Bold As Love =MONO=
Axis: Bold as Love, the second Experience album, was released merely six months after their debut LP Are You Experienced, at the end of 1967. Many of the album's songs were composed with complex studio recording techniques in mind and as a result were rarely performed live. The original mono pressing was intended to cater to those listeners with outdated hifi equipment, and therefore this is a rare piece of Hendrix' legacy. The Music On Vinyl reissue of the mono mix makes this evergreen available for contemporary ears again.

Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced
The stereo version. In 2003, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked it #15 on their 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Electric Ladyland is the third and final album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, released in 1968 on Reprise Records. Produced and mainly written by Jimi Hendrix, the album is by many seen as the peak of Hendrix's mastery of the electric guitar.
With Buddy Miles and Billy Cox in their ranks, the Band Of Gypsys made their live debut at the Fillmore East on New Year's Eve, 1969, for a series of four shows spread over two nights. A compilation of these shows saw the light as the eponymous live album Band of Gypsys. Containing definitive versions of "Machine Gun" and "Who Knows"!
In The West consists of live recordings from the two incarnations of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, including his legendary Isle Of Wight Festival performance in 1970, where he created a live medley of "God Save The Queen" and "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". It was the first live album to be released after Jimi's untimely death.
Originally released in 1994, the Jimi Hendrix Blues album features 11 blues performances recorded by Jimi between 1966 and 1970 showcasing the guitarist's mastery of the 12-bar form. This double-LP audiophile edition of Blues is arguably the best packaged, richest sounding, most coherent post-mortem release from the Hendrix archives.
First Rays of the New Rising Sun, released in 1997, is an attempt to recreate the album Jimi Hendrix was working on at the time of his death in 1970, as close as is feasible to how he would have wanted it (based on recordings and notes he made during the last months of his life).
A stunning collection of 15 recordings of both incarnations of The Experience, Woodstock's Gypsy Sun And Rainbows and the Band Of Gypsys, South Saturn Delta offers a unique insight into the creative process that Jimi Hendrix undertook while crafting many of his most beloved recordings. This double album features early renditions and alternate takes of the classics "Little Wing", "Pali Gap", "All Along The Watchtower" plus previously unheard recordings such as "South Saturn Delta" and "Message To The Universe".
Exciting live and improvisational jams by Hendrix for BBC Radio during the late sixties. With exhilarating versions of his own compositions as well as some excellent Blues standards interpretations and cover versions of his contemporaries Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Cream and The Beatles.
Jimi Hendrix's show at the Community Theater in Berkeley on May 30, 1970 has always been the stuff of legends. It wasn't until 2003 that the second show of the evening was officially released. His signature songs "Hey Joe", "Foxy Lady", "Purple Haze" and "Voodoo Child" sound absolutely stunning, but it's Jimi's solo on "Stone Free" and the tracks "I Don't Live Today" and "Machine Gun" that take you into the stratosphere.
12 previously unreleased studio recordings. Ten recordings were made between February and May 1969 as the Jimi Hendrix Experience set out to create their sequel to the groundbreaking 1968 Double LP Electric Ladyland. The album features the song "Valleys of Neptune", one of the most sought after of all of Hendrix's commercially unavailable recordings. Includes exciting 1969 arrangements of classic Hendrix signature songs "Red House", "Fire" and "Stone Free".
A limited box set containing 8 LPs worth of live recordings from San Francisco's biggest psychedelic ballroom The Winterland. It features previously unreleased music from each of the six unforgettable performances. Included in the box is a 24 page booklet with never before published photos and liner notes by David Fricke, senior editor at Rolling Stone.
LAST FEW COPIES AVAILABLE! 180 gram audiophile vinyl 24-page booklet Includes an extended backstage interview with Jimi Limited to 1.000 copies

Original Soundtrack - Reservoir Dogs
Could you think of any other contemporary movie producer that picks better soundtracks than the widely revered Quentin Tarantino? Inventing a genre on his own, his string of best-selling nouvelle violence movies started out in 1992 with the low budget cult classic Reservoir Dogs. Music On Vinyl is proud to release these so called 'Super Sounds Of The Seventies', a selection of seminal and sometimes wacky hits by artists such as Stealers Wheel, Harry Nilsson and Joe Tex. Reservoir Dogs also raised public interest in the Dutch band George Baker Selection, due to the use of his "Little Green Bag" in the film's opening titles. Keep On Truckin'!

Taste - Taste
Before he went on a highly successful solo streak, Rory Gallagher fronted Taste - a highly influential Irish Blues Rock power trio that sound-wise had many things in common with contemporaries Cream and Them. Taste's eponymous debut album from 1969 contains harder edged Rock jams like "Blister On The Moon" but also Blues traditionals like Leadbelly's "Leaving Blues" and "Catfish". Crucial material for any Blues or Rock fan.

Jamiroquai - Emergency On Planet Earth
Backed by an incredibly tight band, Jamiroquai delivered a Stevie Wonder-esque brand of highly infectious and addictive Funk with a capital F. So infectious in fact, it became a Pop staple almost overnight. Having amassed a huge fanbase in the UK, the popularity of this horde of planet savers spread worldwide over their subsequent two albums.
Improving on their infectious blend of funky R&B and Acid Jazz, Jamiroquai delivered Return Of The Space Cowboy in 1994, hitting the charts with a vengeance and amassing global recognition as THE leading Pop Funk band. Incredibly groovy and tight, Jamiroquai expanded their compositions into the realms of Jazz and this was accompanied by a positive but critical message regarding human rights and environmental issues.
Travelling Without Moving [1996] intentionally offers more of what Jamiroquai does best: highly addictive funky grooves with a social consciousness that is matched by front man Jay Kay's charisma. The third effort of Jamiroquai was carried by an inventive video for "Virtual Insanity"; the album's flagship song. Pressed on two heavy weight champions packed in a gatefold sleeve, Travelling Without Moving is finally available on vinyl again since its original release.

Dan Penn - Do Right Man Dan Penn is mostly known as a songwriter for other artists since the mid sixties. He's responsible for writing classics such as "Do Right Woman Do Right Man" by Aretha Franklin, "I'm Your Puppet" by Bobby & James Purify, "You Left The Water Running" by Wilson Pickett and many more.
In 1994, Dan finally picked up the guitar and revisited 10 of his own compositions by singing himself. And to great effect, he adds fragile and beautiful magic to these already great songs. The Music On Vinyl release of Do Right Man is a must-have as it's never been released on vinyl before!

Moving away from their brand of Boogie Rock, Takin' It To The Streets introduced Steely Dan's Michael McDonald to the band which resulted in an new direction to these California Pop rockers' sound. More polished, more soulful, funkier and with a varied set of catchy songs, Takin' It To The Streets (1976) meant a new and successful start for the already established Boogie Rock band. Highlights of the album are modern Pop classic "Takin' It To The Streets", the funky "Rio" and the energetic Soul rocker "Turn It Loose".

His influence on other artists lead to multiple cover versions of "Got The Same Old Blues" with Freddie King, Eric Clapton, Captain Beefheart, Bobby Bland, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bryan Ferry all tipping their hats to JJ. "El Rey de los Timbales" Tito Puente has been hitting drums, the ivories and timbales since the late forties and in the process has worked together with greats such as Mongo Santamaria, Willie Bobo and Ray Baretto. Night Beat (1957) is one of the best of his earlier period, presenting Tito as big-band leader, driving the jazzy, latin-tinged performances of his band fellows forward with his immaculate sense of timing, swing and energy. Essential album of the undisputed "King Of The Mambo".

"To many thousands of people, Taste meant hours of enjoyment in small-packed sweaty clubs up and down the country. They meant that three piece group from Ireland, who did what few groups ever do by making the top on merit of their music. Taste meant three brilliant soloists who, together, formed one of the tightest groups around. When Taste split we all lost part of ourselves. As we have to learn to live with it, this album is going to make living without Taste easier. Take this piece of black plastic, put it on your player, close your eyes and let your imagination run. This, their third best album, is what Taste were all about. THIS IS TASTE." Paul Charles (4.11.70.)

Bonnie Raitt - Bonnie Raitt
Bonnie Raitt's eponymous debut album put her on the map as a phenomenal Blues singer. Released when Bonnie was just 22, Bonnie Raitt contains some of the best female Blues you'll ever hear.

Seattle's Sanctuary recorded Into the Mirror Black at the infamous Sound City Studios in 1989. The band triumphantly ignored suggestions to tweak their Bay-Area Thrash & traditional Heavy Metal sound in favour of the then more commercially-viable Seattle Grunge-sound, choosing instead to firmly hold their ground with this solid record. Into the Mirror Black now receives the full Music on Vinyl treatment, reissued on high-quality 180-gram vinyl for the first time since its original LP release in 1990.

Mother Love Bone - Mother Love Bone
Mother Love Bone was founded in 1988 by future Pearl Jam's guitarist Stone Gossard and bassist Jeff Ament as an outlet for their Punk and Glam urges. The band's promising career was primarily cut short by the tragic death of vocalist Andrew Wood in 1990, after having released just one EP called Shine. More material from studio recordings with Wood was released as the Apple album. In 1992, Mother Love Bone was released as a combination of both releases – holding itself together as a seminal album with two bonus tracks: "Capricorn Sister" and "Lady Godiva Blues". First 1500 copies are pressed on heavy weight purple vinyl!
Sad Singalong Songs is Dutch singer Anouk's latest album containing the hit song "Birds", the Dutch entry in the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden in May 2013. The albums contains 10 fragile and introspective songs woven together into two side-long tracks. You'll need to experience this album from front to back – which shows the variety of emotions this 'bad girl' of Dutch Rock music is able to display artistically.
"Birds" will be performed by Anouk in the finals of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 18th 2013.

Great songs on this album include "Love That Burns", "Coming Home" and Elmore James' "Dust My Broom".

Dream Theater - Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence
The 6th studio album of Dream Theater is a concept album in its truest form. As the title implies, the album contains six songs, each dealing with a facet of inner struggle. Themes like alcoholism, loss of faith and self isolation are dealt within a true virtuoso manner. The second disc contains one 42-minute long song, divided over two sides, telling six stories about various mental illnesses like autism and schizophrenia. Gov't Mule - Life Before Insanity
Life Before Insanity is Gov't Mule's fifth album, released in 2000 to great critical acclaim. Precious tracks on this album include the haunting title track, the powerful "Wandering Child", "No Need To Suffer" and "Lay Your Burden Down" (the latter two are featuring Ben Harper on vocals). The most hit sensitive track proved to be "Bad Little Doggie", a ZZ-Top like burner, which received lots of airplay. Life Before Insanity was the last album featuring Allman Brothers Band bassist Allen Woody, who tragically died just six months after its release.

Alter Bridge - Blackbird
2007's Blackbird marked the creative launch of Alter Bridge, the follow-up project to members of Alternative Rock radio's favorite band Creed. Blackbird is a heavy, groovy and aggressive album. Alternating acoustic interludes and hard-hitting choruses, the band's new found songwriting freedom resulted in a fresh start for this Florida based Rock band. The D-side has an amazing etch!

10 CC - How Dare You
How Dare You (1976) is the fourth album by these British Art-Pop Rockers. After attaining worldwide success with their hit "I'm Not In Love", 10cc returned with a varied set of songs, often tongue-in-cheek humor and eccentric songwriting. Hits "I'm Mandy, Fly Me" and "Art For Art's Sake" are little stories with wonderful poppy hooks and catchy choruses. This is 10cc at their creative peak! Its brilliant cover art was designed by the recently deceased Storm Thorgersson of Hipgnosis.

Marvin Gaye - Midnight Love
Midnight Love was Marvin Gaye's final album, conceived in 1982 after a long recluse in Oostende, Belgium. Midnight Love became his swansong album after Gaye went through a rough time, secluded from the mainstream and finding out where he belonged. We can safely say, it would be in the studio. He wrote every song on Midnight Love himself, which culminated in the smash hit "Sexual Healing". We can only guess what gems Gaye would have produced in his later years, as his life was taken by his own father just 18 months later.

Billy Joel - 52nd Street
After the massive success of The Stranger [MOVLP170], Joel hit back with 52nd Street (1978) - further building on his unique sound and songwriting formula that brought him to the top of the charts. Billy jazzed up his act, carried by producer Phil Ramone's slick producing style, tightly fitting the melodrama and uplifting effect of Joels music. The melodies Billy churned out on 52nd Street remain some of the best he ever wrote.

Otis Redding - In Person At The Whiskey A Go Go
Recorded at the famous L.A. club Whisky A Go Go in 1966, this album captures the raw energy of a small Otis Redding gig. Playing with his own touring band, this is Otis in his tried & true form – with a kick-ass band that blew the chitlin circuit's roofs off. Roaring versions of "Respect", "I Can't Turn You Loose", "These Arms Of Mine" and "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag" are the definitive Otis Redding live tracks anyone should own.

Gary Moore Band - Grinding Stone
On his debut album Grinding Stone (1973) Moore explores a number of styles, from the title track's instrumental Boogie Rock to soulful vocals in "Sail Across the Mountain" and 17 minutes of guitar and keyboard excursions in the surprisingly funky "Spirit". Often cited as an overlooked gem and totally ahead of its time, Grinding Stone showcases Moore at his most experimental, a taste of the triumphs that followed with his work in Colosseum II & Thin Lizzy.

John Coltrane - Ole Coltrane
Olé's title track is striking in resemblance to the Spanish influence heard on Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain (MOVLP029), although Olé takes this vibe a bit further. His combo stretches out with inspired improvisations from Freddie Hubbard, McCoy Tyner and of course Coltrane himself. Another fine classic Jazz release by Music On Vinyl indeed.
