Dance received its world premiere in Amsterdam on October 19, 1979 and its New York premiere at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on November 29, 1979. Post-dating Einstein on the Beach - Glass's 1975-76 collaboration with director Robert Wilson - Dance was another Glass collaboration, this time with choreographer Lucinda Childs, known for her austere, athematically exact dances, and artist Sol LeWitt, who provided a ghostly, gigantic black- and-white film for several of the piece's five sections.

BLUE FEATHER - CALL ME UP/LET’S FUNK TONIGHT

Dutch soul and funk band Blue Feather was founded by brothers Ed and Ronald Brouwer in 1976. Soon Jan Willem Weeda, Dirk Nusink and Rob Hoelen joined and together they developed a mix of quality 80's funk/disco, a unique sound for a Dutch band. The first single “It's Love” came out in 1980 but it was the 1981 released double a-sided 12-inch with the long versions of “Call Me Up” and “Let's Funk Tonight” that gave the band success. “Call Me Up” is a light playful vocal song while “Let's Funk Tonight” contains a tight funk/disco groove with a long instrumental bass and drum break.

Naakt Over De Schutting (Naked Over The Fence), the 1973 movie was loosely based on a book written by Rinus Ferdinandusse. Described as a “sriller” (sarcastic thriller) this obscure B-movie was directed by Frans Weisz. It features a silly plot, a comic karate fight and a not-so spectacular tram chase all the way to Artis Zoo, Amsterdam. The soundtrack is fantastic, it features 16 tracks in a blend of jazz-funk, easy-listening, soul-jazz and vocal pop-rock. It was composed by Ruud Bos, one of the best Dutch composers for soundtracks. He wrote, arranged and composed stunning tracks for this very sought-after album. Standout tracks “Get It Now”, “Model Session”, and especially “Naked Plus”, with tight drumming, piano-chords & walking bass, are great examples of the sexploitation, jazz-funk and breaks style, and are sampled and used by many hip hop artists.

Supersister was a Dutch progressive rock band and featured Robert Jan Stips (vocals/electric piano), Sacha van Geest (flute), Marco Vrolijk (drums) and Ron van Eck (bass). When Supersister first came out in 1970 they were quickly seen as one of Holland's most creative and unique bands, both amongst their fans and peers. Their original first five albums were inspired by the likes of Soft Machine, Caravan and Frank Zappa. This brand new 2LP compilation, features songs from the original five albums plus the 2019 album. It was compiled especially for Record Store Day by the band's leader Robert Jan Stips. The artwork was also created especially for this RSD release.

Vaya Con Dios was a Belgian band led by singer-songwriter Dani Klein. They are known for their mixing of styles including jazz, blues, soul and Latin pop, as well as for Klein's distinctive voice. What's A Woman - The Blue Sides of Vaya Con Dios is the band's second compilation album, and it was named after their 1990 number one single “What's A Woman?”, which is also featured on this album.
